I get asked all the time, “How much do you snap during the week?”
I had two different routines for practicing. I would have an offseason routine and an in season routine.
During the off season I would try to snap 5 days a week. Each session I would go until I felt good about the work I was putting in. Some days might just be 20-30 snaps. Some days would be an hour long. The reason why I would snap at least 5 days a week was so that the ball never felt foreign to me. I wanted the football to feel like it was part of me. Yes, I would take a few weeks off after the season and not workout or snap but as soon as I started preparing for the next season, it was go time.
I always had a plan when I would practice. During the off-season, I would plan out my practice day. Listed on my site I have all the different drills I would do. I did not try to do all the drills in one day, I would pick out 2-3 and work on those. l always made sure that each session included both long and short snaps. Off season practice is about honing your craft and working on all aspects of long snapping.
Once the season started my practicing would be about what I was struggling in during the practice week or games. For example, if I felt a little off with my short snaps I would spend extra time working on those. If I was struggling with my punt snap and blocking to the right I would spend extra time on that snap and steps. I would practice one of my drills every now and then. My favorite drill during the season was the repeat snap drill. You can get a lot of work in, in a short period of time.
I would also throw in one of my drills every now and then. My favorite drill during the season was the repeat snap drill. You can get a lot of work in, in a short period of time.
Check back for some examples of my practice sessions preseason and post season.

Shoot, so that’s that one supspseo.
A Div 1 Coach making a Long Snapper snap 50x a practice (everyday) too much? I think he is also snapping for the regular snapper.
